THOUGHTS
Luke 10:29ff But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And
who is my neighbor?" Could we call the parable that follows the
parable of the Good OUTCAST? Jesus wants me to be a LOVER!
God wants me to see life so clearly, that I naturally GIVE INSTEAD OF TAKE!
I can LOVE INSTEAD OF HATE. I can take care of YOU instead of
ME! And more, I can see JOY in this way of life! The
successful Christian is described below. He has “PASSED FROM DEATH TO
LIFE”. He has learned to take God’s LOVE, and PASS IT ON! Each
step, each breath is SEEN IN THIS LIGHT! May we be ASSURED!
1John 3:10-19 By this the children of God and the
children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness
is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. 11 For
this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should
love one another; 12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew
his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil,
and his brother’s were righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, brethren, if
the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed out of death into
life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no
murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16 We know love by
this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for
the brethren. 17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother
in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in
him? 18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue,
but in deed and truth. 19 We will know by this that we are of the truth,
and will assure our heart before Him
My Prayer:
Teach us to respond to your great love, O God. You have loved us so
awesomely, may we be able to absorb that love so completely that it becomes who
we are. Help us to breathe out love in this world in such a way that You,
O God, are glorified in heaven. May the truth of your Son’s eternal
victory be carried and displayed by your adopted children. May we help
Jesus draw all men to himself! Help us make this our reason for
living. Give us victory, O Lord, over ourselves. Help me today, to
find a talent you have given me, and begin using it.
